Principal
Arthur Leonard devotes his practice to the needs of
closely-held businesses and their principals through
U.S. and multinational income tax planning, asset protection
planning, estate planning, business succession planning,
and deferred compensation planning. He also assists
individuals of various incomes with estate and Medicaid
planning.
He is an author of RIA State and Local Taxes, an influential
national resource for lawyers and accountants and for
the National Business Institute and Lorman, and other
business and tax law publishers. He has also written
a popular column on tax law for a leading Rhode Island
daily newspaper and is a frequent lecturer to accountants
and lawyers on estate and tax planning issues.
Mr. Leonard received a B.S. degree, cum laude, from
Providence College, a J.D. degree from St. Louis University
and a LL.M. Degree in Taxation from Boston University
School of Law. He is a member of the Estate Planning
Council and of the Rhode Island Bar Association Committee
on Taxation. He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island,
Massachusetts and Florida, as well as before the U.S.
Tax Court and U.S. Court of Claims.
